Christmas – Michael Bublé

The MARK’S VINTAGE VINYL page features something from Mark’s collection of recordings from over the years. Most of it is on vinyl – hence the name – though there will be a few entries from his CDs (remember those?).

Christmas by Michael Bublé

  • Seventh studio album by Michael Bublé released in 2011.
  • My wife’s love of Bublé led to the purchase of this CD. It gets lots of play during the holiday season, and it has become a favorite of mine.
  • The album topped the Billboard 200 album chart in 2011, and it remained #1 for five weeks. It has charted every year since its original release. For the 10s decade, Billboard ranked it the #24 album for the entire decade, and in November 2021, Billboard ranked it as the #2 All Time Top Holiday Album (#1 was A Charlie Brown Christmas by the Vince Guaraldi Trio, and #3 was Merry Christmas by Mariah Carey).
  • It is 6x platinum in the U.S., and it has sold over 14 million copies worldwide, making it Bublé’s most successful album.
  • The album has many of the traditional Christmas songs that pop music stars record when they make a Christmas album – nothing original here, though very little of Bublé’s catalog of music is penned by him anyway. Crooners rarely croon their own music. Here’s the video to the lead song on the album, It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas. Watch it – it’s funny and cute. Have a peaceful holiday friends!
