Pink Floyd – Comforably Numb

The AWESOME! page has random music stuff that I think is cool. You never know what you will find here!

People who know me will scoff at me when I talk about my favorite song ever, or my favorite artist ever. I’m sure over the years I’ve gone on record saying that hundreds of different songs are the greatest ever. For the artists, I don’t think its in the hundreds, but it probably is somewhere around 30.

Anyway – for the past 10 years or so, I’ve been pretty consistent in saying that Comfortably Numb from Pink Floyd is my favorite song. This became even more so when I watched it on a concert DVD, Pulse, released in 2006. It shows the band (without Roger Waters) playing a concert in 1994 – and it has all of the usual amazing visuals that you expect from a Pink Floyd concert. This is especially true of Comfortably Numb, originally from their album The Wall. So…put on your headphones and watch this amazing performance – particularly the last 5 minutes. You’ll see why David Gilmour is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
