- Seattle based hip-hop duo formed in 2008. Macklemore is the stage name for Ben Haggerty. Lewis met Macklemore at a photo shoot and became fast friends. Lewis became a collaborator ever since that meeting.

- Hit singles from The Heist include Thrift Shop, Can’t Hold Us, and Same Love. The first two reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 List, while Same Love peaked at #11.
- Same Love is considered an anthem for supporters of same-sex marriages. It was written by Macklemore due to his frustration with hip-hop culture and its treatment of gays. The photograph on the cover for the single shows Macklemore’s uncle John with John’s husband Sean.
